Love…We All Need To Fall In Love ASAP!

All you need is love, love. Love is all you need.

What would you do if you were in love?  There are many types of love, and regardless of the type, each has serious motivators behind it. Think about all the lengths a person will go to when motivated by love. So many songs are written describing the heights that we will travel in the name of love. Marvin Gaye sings a song, “Ain't No Mountain” by Debelah Morgan, describing how love will empower you to accomplish anything…

“I'll do anything
Any jungles I will swing
Any mountain I'll climb
Any ocean I will swim
No matter how high I will fly
Just to see my way to you.”

Wow! Close your eyes and imagine what you could and would do if you were in love.

Pretty amazing isn’t it.  What’s even more amazing, it doesn’t even seem like a struggle.  You could do endless tasks with endless energy and not only would it seem effortless, you would enjoy it.  It would bring a smile to your face to move in the direction of love.

Now, let me ask you a question, “How much do you love you?”

That is not a question we often ask when we talk about love.  I mean you would find it weird if the Debelah Morgan song went like this:

Ain't no mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough
Ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to ME

Can you imagine listening to a song on the radio where the lyrics are all about how much an individual loves him or herself?  But that is really what I want to know, how much do you love you?

Imagine what you could do for you, if you were in love with you.

You could eat right, exercise, save money, work harder, even love someone else more and you could do it all effortlessly in the name of love for you.  You would not blow cigarette smoke or bad food or too much alcohol in to the body of someone you love.  So how can you do that to you?  You wouldn’t let a person you loved drink and drive, so how can you do that to you?  You would motivate a person you love to be the healthiest, happiest, have loving relationships and be the most productive they can be. So why won’t you do that for you?

Since love is such a strong motivator that will power us to reach inside ourselves and accomplish the most we can, we need to fall in love with ourselves and put some of that love energy into ourselves.  The more we love ourselves the more we will create the best lives we can, and guess what; we will build incredible loving relationships all around us as well.

Love is the way.

No truer a statement made. I've said many times that "I dont like myself" in fact I've gone to the extent of saying I hate myself, but now having read this thought for the day, I know now this is an attitude I've got to change or nothing is going to change for me. This is going to be day one of me loving me.

Wow, Coach. It's like you're IN my BRAIN. This past few weeks, I've been experiencing a lot of self-doubt and destructive inner self-talk. Sometimes I even caught myself indulging in it.

After reading today's inspiration though, I know how important it is that I catch myself, and derail that train before it gets out of control.

I certainly wouldn't sit around and ceaselessly beat up my loved ones with the same kind of words I've been using to talk to myself lately.

I remember, a few years ago when I read Psycho-Cybernetics by maxwell maltz, one technique he taught in the book to combat negative self talk was saying aloud "Cancel!"  whenever you have negative thoughts... do you think that works?
